Founded in 1983, MDL is a privately-owned, UK-based developer, designer and manufacturer of eye-safe, laser-based, time-of-flight measurement systems used in scores of applications where speed, accuracy and safety are paramount.

MDL, which has six global bases, is ISO 9001/2000 certified. Products range from simple, easy-to-use laser modules to sophisticated 3D laser surveying and imaging systems which are revolutionising once-arduous or hazardous assignments.

A quarter century of excellence has seen many of MDL’s developments become industry standard including Fanbeam® laser radar for dynamic position control of ships, Quarryman® laser rock profiling systems used in rugged, hard-rock mining operations and C-ALS®, Cavity Scanner used for remote void measuring.
