Fanbeam® Laser DP reference system
Seajacks"Seajacks Leviathan has been engaged in wind farm work since she entered service as a new build in June 2009, since then she has installed over 150 turbines. The visibility of GPS satellites can on occasions be poor which results in satellite line of sight problems and multi path errors, as such a reduced horizontal dilutions of precision. Fanbeam has proven to be a reliable system by which we can accurately position the vessel for jacking within a tolerance of <0.2-0.3mtr. For our latest project in Germany we decided to upgrade our Fanbeam system from version 4.2 to version 5. The new version has proved to be more reliable than ever, with advanced target tracking and modelling within the software which prevents spurious targets from causing a drive off. Furthermore, with an improved HMI/UCU graphical user interface (GUI) and the ability to tilt "live", the system has become far more user friendly with data being presented with greater clarity to the DPO." K Line Offshore"I have been using the Fanbeam 5 just a couple of days, but it is enough to convince me that it is a great improvement from the previous version we were using. The Fanbeam 5 was very stable with good signals. Once locked on the target there was no interference from the rigs crane (wire, hook and lifts)." Master Asbjørn Seime
